Our Annual Meeting

Join us for the 2019 WCTI Annual Meeting! Here are the highlights from 2018.

2018 Annual Meeting – “Gets better every year”

“This year was the most entertaining I have seen, gets better every year!” was just one of many positive comments received from the 2018 WCTI Annual Meeting held on May 4th where more than 200 WCTI members packed the Hilton in Lisle.

A shout out to our 2018 sponsors for this year’s meeting.  WCTI members enjoyed the opportunity to stop by tables and learn more about features and benefits of products and services.

Members celebrating years of service from 5 to 35 years were recognized at the event.

Special recognition was also given to the 31 WCTI approved agents who play a vital role in the growth and retention of WCTI membership.

Tom Simeone, WCTI Chairperson, reviewed the structure of the WCTI program and provided a refresher on why WCTI is the best option for Illinois manufacturing companies.

Bryan Webster, Stacey Moon and Phil Kretekos provided an update on the claims, loss control and finance committees as well as shared the focus areas for 2018.

There were a variety of break-out sessions for members to choose from at this year’s event.  Exemplary Practice Ideas and Trigger Program Experiences was a big hit.  Members listened as their peers shared exemplary practice ideas they implemented as the result of a mishap that occurred at their facility in 2017.

Suspense filled the room during the presentation, “Three Point Contact & Is this Compensable.”  Members listened and analyzed facts given from real life cases and then had the opportunity to cast their vote as to whether the claim should be compensable or denied.

Mark Lies from Seyfarth Shaw is always a crowd favorite.  This year he educated the members on the basic aspects of OSHA.

Additional break-out sessions were held on Adjustment Bills and Doing Less at Work – Solutions for Strain/Sprain Injuries.

There were 44 members who submitted their OSHA log showing no days away from work and were given a No Lost Time Award.  The Safety Award for Excellence was given to 19 members who completed the year with a loss ratio of less than 10%, an MSAP score of 90 or higher and provided an essay touting their current safety program.

A new award was presented this year for an exemplary practice shared with the WCTI members in 2017.  The winner of this year’s award went to Unity Manufacturing Company for a machine guarding improvement.

ATF, Inc. and Stanley Spring and Stamping Corporation took home the 2017 Chairman’s Award which is the most prestigious award at the meeting.  The Chairman’s Award is presented to one large and small company who has shown exceptional safety performance.  It also recognizes the long-term safety commitment to promoting and providing a safe and healthy work environment.  Congratulations, ATF, Inc. and Stanley Spring and Stamping Corporation!

Thank you for making this year’s meeting a huge success, we look forward to seeing you next year.
