Here are the highlights from 2019.

2019 Annual Meeting

“This meeting is put together very nicely – great sponsors and presentations!” was just one of many positive comments received from the 2019 WCTI Annual Meeting held on May 3rd where approximately 200 WCTI members packed the Hilton in Lisle.

A shout out to our 2019 sponsors for this year’s meeting.  WCTI members enjoyed the opportunity to stop by tables and learn more about features and benefits of products and services.

  • CAA The Hearing Place
  • DuPage Optical
  • Hound Labs
  • Illinois On-Site
  • Sherwin-Williams
  • Triune Health Group
  • Woodlake Medical Management

Members celebrating years of service from 5 to 40 years were recognized at the event.

Special recognition was also given to the 30 WCTI approved agents who play a vital role in the growth and retention of WCTI membership.

Angie Blakeney, CCMSI, discussed the roles and responsibilities of the Loss Control Committee, the Finance Committee and the Claims Committee for WCTI.  The Committee members are WCTI Trustees.

A five year history of Membership, Standard Premium, WCTI Rates and Statutory Surplus was reviewed.

WCTI’s mission was discussed and the WCTI video, “It’s In Your Hands” was shown.

There were a variety of break-out sessions for members to choose from at this year’s event.  CCMSI Loss Control presented sessions on Situational Awareness and Training Programs, Resources and Tracking.

Mark Lies from Seyfarth Shaw is always a crowd favorite.  This year he educated the members on OSHA Update, Workplace Safety and Health Liabilities.

Additional break-out sessions were held on Adjustment Bills and Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission.

There were 58 members who submitted their OSHA log showing no days away from work and were given a No Lost Time Award.  The Safety Award for Excellence was given to 23 members who completed the year with a loss ratio of less than 10%, an MSAP score of 90 or higher and provided an essay touting their current safety program.

Technical Metals, Inc. was awarded the Exemplary Practice Award for their incentive programs that get all employees involved.

Micron Metal Finishing, LLC and Peerless Industries, Inc. took home the 2021 Chairman’s Award which is the most prestigious award at the meeting.  The Chairman’s Award is presented to one large and small company who has shown exceptional safety performance.  It also recognizes the long-term safety commitment to promoting and providing a safe and healthy work environment.  Congratulations, Micron Metal Finishing, LLC and Peerless Industries, Inc.!
