Workers’ Compensation for Illinois Manufacturers

2026 Annual Meeting

It is time for the 2026 WCTI Annual Meeting! This meeting is for you and for anyone in your organization who has responsibility for safety, claims or the financial aspect of your workers’ compensation program. Let me tell you why. The Keynote Speaker will be Mark Lies and Adam Young from Seyfarth Shaw. They will discuss Drugs and Alcohol in the Era of Rescheduling and Legalization. We will also have presentations regarding the following subjects:

The Workers’ Compensation Trust of Illinois

WCTI was established in 1981 with a goal of stabilizing workers’ compensation costs on a long-term basis for safety-driven Illinois manufacturers. The Trust enables participating manufacturing companies to pool their excellent loss results and self-insure their workers’ compensation exposure.

Trust Self Insurance. Trust WCTI.

I first started working with WCTI in 1994. Back then, I was new to worker’s comp issues, but I could count on WCTI to help our injured employees and to help me with claims reporting. It wasn’t until our company left WCTI, that I learned to truly appreciate the value of a knowledgable claim consultant. Thankfully, we are now back as a member of the Trust; my job is a lot easier, and our people are a lot happier!

Gloria Kapica

HR Director, United Displaycraft

The WCTI philosophy is to identify and eliminate risk, so the plant does not have the injury in the first place. When risk and injuries are reduced, it’s easy to manage workers’ comp because there isn’t a claim to manage. When an injury or illness does occur, WCTI provides outstanding service to both the injured employee and to the company

Bill Darrow

HR/EHS Director, Streator Dependable

Historically we had good loss control experience but we were lacking a formal safety program.  WCTI/CCMSI has individuals with practical knowledge that were able to assist in expanding the scope of our safety program.  Through the help and guidance of the loss control committee, specifically, Diane and Meredith, we have developed a thorough safety program, increased employee awareness and created a safer work environment. –
